Overview
In order to recognize the achievements of departments that have created well-written business continuity plans, a biannual Circle of Excellence Award will be awarded. A department can submit their plans for consideration or may be nominated by another department.
Departments winning the Circle of Excellence Award will be recognized at a future quarterly business continuity meeting and have their achievement recognized in future campus communications. Multiple departments can be recognized for team continuity projects.
-Departments nominating themselves for an award must have a current continuity plan and may nominate themselves for the award under one or more of the following criteria:
-Plans that have been used successfully during a real eventor
-Departments that have implemented an innovative strategy to mitigate against business disruption risksor
-Plans that appear to be feasible and actionable, such as including these elements:
* Contact Lists (staff, vendors, other stakeholders)
* Procedures for activating the plans (include people with authorization to activate plans)
* Roles and responsibilities of those implementing the plans. (ex. scripts or checklists).
* Workaround/Downtime Procedures (alternate sites, equipment, IT, etc)
* Information about accessing vital records and other documents (how to access, backups, etc)
* IT disaster recovery plan: departments with their own IT units need to have documentation
recovering technology, applications, and data.
* Agreements or contracts related to your business continuity plan (if applicable)
